So I checked...but couldn't find it. Anyone know for sure if I should check the tranny fluid when the car is on or off? warm engine or cold engine?

Thanks

I've always check mine when its cold so I don't accidentally touch any hot spot. Same goes for checking oil.

levi - instead of getting a bunch of wrong answers on the web you should read your owner's manual:

"Automatic Transmission

Check the fluid level with the engine at normal operating temperature.

1. Park the car on level ground. Shut off the engine.

2. Remove the dipstick from the transmission and wipe it with
a clean cloth..."
