I have a newer 2002 V6 J30A1 block and I wanted to know if it's compatible in a 98 Accord V6 with the same J30A1 block ID. before I start swapping it over.

For the most part, yes. I think the main difference is the '98-99 used a distributor whereas the '00-02 used coil packs. And the cams are slightly different too if I remember correctly but that won't affect anything you're doing.

Thanks RedRyder, I wanted just to use the block. I know the 2002 has the coils. I didn't want to replace the block and have it not work out. I could have just replaced the whole engine with the 02 cams and coil packs but i was told the ECM would probably have to be changed as well.
