Hey 6GA. Sorry, nothing interesting to post here about a mod or performance. Just having some trouble and thought you could be of some assistance? We'll see...

Recently my fan speed dial for the cabin lost its functionality on speeds 3 and 4. Then functionality came back. Now, however, all speeds have lost function. I was told that it could be my "blower resistor." Any ideas? Honda wants $221 to fix the thing. I know that's all wrapped up in labor fees and sh!t...

All I know is having heat sure would be nice right now.

I'm talking to myself here.

$66 @ rockauto.com
$80-$90 @ local Honda dealership, Pepboys, Advance Auto Parts, NAPA, Autozone, and everywhere else.

I'm waiting for a call back from my local U-Pull-It yard. I'm determined to fix this b!tch for under $20.

i prolly have one...lemme look real quick

err....couldn't find it

I never would've thought to ask
but now that you mention it...

If anyone has a blower motor resistor they're willing to part with, I'd gladly pay them for it, asking price and shipping. I've listed competetive prices above.
let me know, please. thanks.

so get this:
search after search led me to a salvage yard in my gf's hometown
turns out her dad knows the guy running it too
i walk in and theres a 6th gen sitting right up front
i grabbed the resistor and the flat black center console (to replace my ugly faux woodgrain one)
for $25
sweet deal

i plug in the harness
NOTHING

i drive home and swap the 7.5A fuse with another
NOTHING

so i give up and go to work
9 hours of black friday madness later
the sh!t kicks on
...
and 8 minutes into my ride home gives out and now only functions on speed 4 (max)

is there some deeper underlying electrical problem here?
or did fate deal me TWO bad resistors?
any help is appreciated
please
