Yes, I know Sketch, I just love the sound of VTEC. If I wanted to feel VTEC i'd find me a GSR and throw in some JDM parts.... as for the 700hp civic  that's insane power, but I bet the driver wasn't always hitting 6k or 7k before he shifts just to hear VTEC and his boost meter jump while on that trip... see if it was me... that's all i'd be doing . Thanks allot for your help guys, I think I'll have to drive the F23 and see what's up then I'll make my final decision.

you are really NOT going to hear or feel vtec kick on on a SOHC motor
designed for fuel economy and decent low end torque (as opposed to DOHC's
trying to get max power at the top end).

on our cars (4cyl at least) the vtec engagement is variable and depends on
several factors (rpm, throttle, ect.) and it will kick in MUCH sooner than most
people think (as low as 2300rpm's). so even with everyday driving, just to
get up to highway speed i bet you hit it in at least first and second, probably
third too.

but def. get the 5spd, and EX 5spd's are pretty rare (i wish i had a sun roof :)).

xluben, I was talking about if I had a H22 swap w/ a turbo.... I know the acc's VTEC activation is very quiet and I wont feel VTEC kick in either...
