I had that problem with a couple amps as well, had to get them fixed, two of them went in to protect mode. Definately an amp issue from the sounds of things, but I would look for a more reliable amp anyway.

If you sub is 300w RMS, then you should get an amp that pushes that amount max.

Look up the kicker ZX series on ebay. They are good amps for the price and since you have a kicker you know the amp would be rated the same as the speaker.

My gf has two of these subs that are 8ohms each bridged running on this amp and they work nice.

so 800 watts is to much? so i would need to get something that has maybe a max Bridged RMS Power 250 watts yes? if im correct, so i found this amp on craigslist sony xplod 1000watt amp so that is way to much for the sub correct?

dont get xplod

look for something in the 300-400RMS range if youre really set on keeping that sub.
