RAI can you buy too big of a filter?

I was looking to get a RAI for my v6 and was wondering what the difference in size of filter. I have a huge one from my truck, about 10 long 7in dia.

yea pretty much. I just didnt know if have a to big of one would decrease or increase anything. Or harm anything is mostly what id like to know.

to small could restrict airflow. but too big isn't an issue. as long as it fits in the bay and the hood closes you're fine.
