I am in need of rims and tires right now due to a liitle accident I had last week  . I was looking on eBay and came up on these rims:

I emailed the guy and he said the rims would fit, but I would need 215/45/17 tires instead of the 205/40/17 that come with the package, and those tires would be $100 more :(

My question is what effects disadvantages/advantages will I experience with 205/40/17 compared to the 215/45/17's other than my speedometer being off?

The tires will just have a thicker sidewall, compared to the 205/40's.

215/45/17 is the correct tire size for 17's for our cars. I had the same size when I had my 17's on. Pic of my 17's below.

Your gas milage will suck with the 205/40. Also you will end up racking more miles with a shorter tire.

Ha, I didn't know that. I guess thats reason enough to spend the extra money.
