For the past 2 weeks my car has been going really sluggish. I have a vtec indicator light which has not been going off. I tried changing the oil and that did not work. i have no cel. i have gotten it to go off only 3 times, and it usually happened after 10 min of driving but once i turn the car off and on aagain vtec does not kick in.
any ideas on what i should do. I drive a f23a4 5spd

My guess is that when you installed the vtec indicator light, you messed up the selenoid that triggers vtec, and so basically your vtec light, which is meant to show you when vtec engages, is actually stopping it from engaging.

and heres the reason why people said vtec lights were bad........cuz sometimes they interfere.

theirs tach's in 6th gens.....if you go above where vtec is supposed to engage, youre in vtec, at least thats how i would do it.

It's pretty hard to take off with the bolts being hard to access, but if you can take off the VTEC solenoid and check for any clogs in the filter, it may tell you what's up. I think you can even apply some voltage (not sure what) and see if the solenoid activates properly.
