Whats This Button for?

I found this button in my sisters car and couldn't figure out what it does. Neither does my sister. My car and her car are pretty much the same.

We both have 99 Accords, 4 door, LX models. But mine is manual and hers is auto, also mine was made in the States while her's was made in japan. That's the only difference. I don't know if it makes a difference.

I don't think it's aftermarket because my dad bought the car brand new from Honda when it first came out and then gave it to my sister a couple years ago. We can't figure out what that button/ switch does. The only thing we noticed is that it makes some radio stations more clear and less staticy. That's all we find that the button does. I know its not the alarm switch because that's near the hood release lever.

Does anyone else have this button/ Switch in their car?

weird...if it were stock, you'd think it would at least be centered. Does the car have an autostart installed? Does the button light up at all?

looks like a cheap *** aftermarket switch to me... take that panel off and trace the wires if you really want to know what its for

No, there's not auto start, and its just a black rocker switch or whatever those are called.

I tried tracing it, it goes way into behind the dash, then you lose site of the wire. The only way is to take off the whole dash, which I'm not about to do in the winter. lol.

no but serious thats just a basic rocker switch... maybe the previous owner had some aftermarket fogs or neon lights or something

Have you asked your dad if he knows what it is?

might sound weird but someone could have wired up the rear window defrost thing to that button, which is why is could screw with your radio. try it out.

My dad doesn't know anything about cars, let alone add something to it, lol. So I don't think he knows what it is either. lol.

The button certainly doesn't make the car go any faster. hahha.
