so dumb me overtightened the temperature sending unit and broke it.....so i didnt feel like dealing with it so i let my mechanic try....he tried and only made it worse...he opened up the hole and now the sensor doesnt fit....he says i need a new head now....is this true? i've been wanting to get a built head anyways.....anybody selling a vtech f23 head?built or not??

I would try and be a little more creative about fixing it. Got any pix to suggest how to fixit

Drill and tap. Flush the coolant system to remove any methal shavings. And get an aftermarket gauge.

He would need to install a helicoil or timesert if he enlarged the hole. Not sure how well those hold 15psi of fluid pressure...
