Area seemed nice to me, it wasn't run down with hoodlums loitering about. I didn't have any problems with my car parked on the southeast side of the city (which is where the Motel6 is). There was a really nice hotel next to it iirc.

If I had VS-XX's I would have locks, maybe even two, on them wherever I went regardless.

and yea i have locks but if a thief is good and knows what hes doing the locks arent gonna stop him/her. I honestly think they'd have a harder time figuring out how to get a jack or something under my car than they would getting the locks off.
