Its a 1999 ULEV 4 banger EX. No check engine light. They green key thing comes on. I can hear the fuel pump prime and the main relay click when the engine light shuts off after the turning of the key initially.
I read up on this and determined that the main relay may be the problem. Just spent $50+ on a new one and i'm having the same problem!!!
It will not start with out pressing on the gas peddle and when it does start if I let off the gas it dies again.
I also checked that ACG fuse under...
I have checked the motor mounts and this is not the problem.
I have not had time to check anything else yet.
The weird thing that I did notice about this was the other day. I was accelerating in reverse down a street and i do not get the vibration or noise or anything... what is up with...
Hi, I found out the problem. It had a check engine light p1149 and by replacing the o2 sensor ($100 something freakin dollars for the damn part) all the problems have been fixed.
It has been 2 days and still no engine light back on. There was also another code in there for the EGR valve...
I let it warm up for a bit and when I say "through the rpm range" I mean I'm just accelerating like a normal human and I'm not gunning it or anything. It seems maybe a throttle positioning sensor? IDK... Umm I recently replaced the thermostat because it was stuck open
It happens mostly when it's cold. I put the car in drive and hit the gas and the rpm jumps all around and the then it shifts into second. It seems to
Shift fine it just like it doesn't accelerate thru the rpm range smoothly. It mostly does it when cold.
99 accord ex vtec ulev 4 cyl 197,000...
It is an AT. I read about that vacuum hose and I will look into that this weekend as well. I guess if I pull the hose off and it idles worse then I know that it is working properly?
Nice!!! SD rocks. I live in Lakeside and work in Pacific Beach. I see that you live in AZ. I have some family in Tempe and Peoria we visit every now and then.
Thanks for the tip on the motor mounts. I looked at them yesterday and they looked alright. I just need to get a helper so I can...
Alright... I didn't know about putting the car in the air and listening and watching for vibaration, good call.
I will do all of this myself and if I do not find anything unusual I will take it somewhere for them to check.
Check the motor mounts, axels, and alignment - got it!
I will get back to you after these items have been checked. I just wonder how the axel would make it seem like the engine is louder than it should be under acceleration.
I know how to check the motor mounts. How do I go about...
I have a 99 accord that I recently bought and under acceleration I get a high frequency vibration on the steering wheel and the rear view mirror and the engine seems louder than it should be. At idle or when I let off the gas it is smooth and quiet. Under acceleration OR just maintaining speed...
