swapping the F23A5 to a JDM F23A Help!
As far as I’ve noticed the only difference between the f23a and the a5 is the plug. Found this out when I pulled the F23a5 outta my Dx and put an a1 in there. Suppose I could rip them both apart and actually find out. I’d suggest just going to the junkyard and finding a dizzy off an lx or ex...- rockstroh89

False Information in this thread from everyone who’s responded lol. I bought an ecu with the key and ignition, ended up losing the key. Did some digging online and found a video on YouTube how to remove it and which chip it was. Ecu was practically trash at that point I thought so decided to say...- rockstroh89

got it all figured out. car is a dx originally with the f23a5 non vtec so yes I did use the a1 harness due to the differences with the distributor and it having a couple sensors the a5 doesn't. theyre cheap enough and plentiful at my local yards so was a no brainer over doing a bunch of...- rockstroh89

Car is a 98 5 speed manual. I pulled out the f23a5 non vtec and swapped in a f23a1. picked up the correct ecu, even tho the car will run and drive with the non vtec ecu. everything works exactly as it should besides my temp gauge. after doing a little bit of digging and reading through manuals...- rockstroh89
