IMG_1344.JPG Been a long ass time since I've posted
. Car has been sitting for close to a year.. Replacing auto trans on 4cyl with second JdM trans. First replacement lasted about 50k miles. Been so long since I've done this, couldnt remember best way to support motor.. I have access to engine hoist if needed. Was gonna try put jack under motor but didn't want to screw myself if I needed extra space. Haynes book says from above.

  • Also, do I need to remove the top bolt to frame on mount behind engine?
Have a huge oil leak valve cover only i hope.20211116_212918.jpg 20211116_212958.jpg

Are you just pulling the trans and supporting the engine or pulling both? All you need to do is remove the tierods fromt he knuckles, pull the axles (including part that connects to back of engine), separate trans from engine (while supporting engine either from top or bottom), disconnect shifter linkage, drain the fluid, and then either drop it or lift it out.
