    So I went and got a salvage dizzy and of course it was in even worse shape than my current one. Returned for a refund and ordered a new generic. Just arrived yesterday, will put it on tomorrow. Also gonna look for a replacement hose for the one that's been soiled, but am not sure what the part...

    Funny you should say this, I'm just now about to give up on the dizzy job as I'm having a hell of a time getting the pin out of the shaft. Thanks for the advice - I might just go ahead and do that. I do recall the water hose directly beneath the distributor being slick and clearly oil-fouled, so...

    I think I ordered that with the new cap and rotor. I grabbed every related seal I saw available on Rockauto just to be safe.

    Thanks for all the suggestions so far everyone, and sorry for the late update but here's what's new: I tried testing the fuel pressure but since there's no schrader valve, I consulted my service manual and discovered I can just take off the pulsation damper to fit a gauge on... I soon found...

    Will do that soon, thanks for the suggestion. IIRC it was the '00-'02 models that had COP, the '98-'99 had wires. Mine absolutely has wires. Run a Google image search on "99 accord v6 engine" for proof. Good to know, I'll have to research that more.
