Yeah, I saw them. Yeah, I want it. No, I'm not going to get a line of credit for it! Haha, sorry. Just don't have the cash!

I'll gladly trade you TWO of the 300mm f/4L IS's for your lens (I have two of them)

Gah! I want that soooo bad. But even if I sold both of my 300 f/4 IS's AND my 70-200 2.8 IS, I'd barely have enough to cover it, and I don't know that I'd ever sell the 70-200 2.8 IS. (Don't ask how I ended up with two 300 f/4 IS's, but if anyone wants to buy one, let me know :))

Playing With Fire (and testing out my new Alienbees)

I love these! Except I hate seeing the lighting in the shot... Just wondering, what were the settings for the ambient exposure?

Haha, seems kind of dumb. Might try it when there's nothing to bounce of off. I love the umbrella for product stuff. I'm going to buy another and stands on Monday!!!!

Thanks! The flashes get bought up like CRAZY!!!! I had an open WTB on POTN for a flash for the last 3 or 4 months. It seemed like every time I'd get a PM about one, it would be sold by the time I replied!!!! But my waiting did pay off. Both of them I got are literally like new with all...

I got another 580 EX II from a guy and he talked me into the 70-200 while I was there! Haha. He said he got 31 e-mails in about 6 hours about the flash! It's definitely way sharper than my 2.8 IS at 200mm wide open. On the same lens, stopping down (smaller aperture, higher f-number) will...

Yeah, I'd rather have a 300 f4 for the price, but the deal I got was too good to pass up (local). It will make a good combo for when my wife is second shooter at sporting events. It's a very solid telephoto and much lighter than the 2.8 IS version. I'll probably be looking to swap it out for...

Just picked up a 70-200 f/4 IS: The f/4 IS seems really small/light compared to the f/2.8 IS....

Mine's a bit soft wide open at 200mm, but nothing you could notice when resized down for web viewing. I think 7 is either just a hair mis-focused or slight camera shake. Doesn't affect the picture, IMO. Shots look great. Loving the shallow DOF.

    Shots with a New Lense

Did you take that picture of the lens? I believe it's an f/1.2 not f/1.4 like you posted. I think it weighs about 2 1/4 lbs. That's a real solid piece of glass, but I wonder why you'd bother if you're shooting them with direct flash anyways... Nice shots, though. I hate shooting in super...

f/2.8 or faster zoom, or a fast prime. More importantly a good flash. You really can't do a wedding without spending some $$$.

Manual Exposure! Definite must for shooting in the snow. Good pictures! Try a low perspective with the doggie :)

It looks like primer in the pics :( Have you tried shooting a grey card to get the exposure nailed down. Just based on a quick glance I'm thinking that maybe the 'Vette is a bit "overexposed", which is why it doesn't look much like a professional flat black paintjob. That's a hot car, though...

580 EX II is where it's at. Great stuff right there. I don't use any body that's not gripped. BTW, I only shoot at f/2.8. I'm not a prime user though. f/1.8 doesn't mean much to me when it's not useful on a shoot.

USM and IS are a winning combo. You should NOT think of any of those variable aperture lenses as "fast". They are not. If that's what you want, keep the 18-55 IS and start saving.
