What kind of shift knob you use? 5/6speed

Sorry they're ginormous.... With nut, from eye level: With nut: Without nut (with the pspec knob bottomed out, the shift collar flops up and down.)

What kind of shift knob you use? 5/6speed

BRB :lawl: It doesn't let the knob go as low (like 3/8" higher), but otherwise the knob will be loose or if you bottom it out on the threads you have no idea where the numbers are going to end up, which would be fine on a blank knob.

What kind of shift knob you use? 5/6speed

Most shift knob nuts have a nice finish on them... I don't notice it and it fits nicely with the pspec collar. Do you need a picture?

What kind of shift knob you use? 5/6speed

Acura RSX Type-S knob - brushed aluminum - $34 @ handa-accesories.com - Honda factory goodness - ~100g, fairly light PSPEC OG knob - black anodized aluminum? - black doesn't wear off, it oxidizeds or something and appears lighter... very odd. I tried polishing it out to no avail. -...

Would my coupe look better with 19" or 20" wheels?

Sometimes I think my 18s look too big... sometimes they're too small. 19's look a little ridiculous since the tires have such a low profile, few have really pulled it off on a 6ga.

    Need new struts

How have you narrowed it down to struts? So many things can make noises when the suspension moves. Is there fluid leaking out of the strut?

    Viper 5901 Alarm DIY!

99 LX sedan, no factory alarm. The circuitry should be the same, factory alarm or not, since the factory alarm is plug and play. I must've grabbed the wrong wire and I've just been too lazy to fix it since. You don't need to worry about the immobilizer if you're not using a remote start...

One thing that annoys the sht outta me (Rant content)....

It should almost be a rule that socal sellers use "lazy, pickup only" instead of "local pickup only" in their listings.

One thing that annoys the sht outta me (Rant content)....

+1, SoCal guys need to stop being lazy and offer shipping. You guys live in your own world with your own "spotted" thread and ****. Good for you, but is there any reason other than laziness when it comes to not offering shipping or do you just not trust other forum members outside of your realm...

    Viper 5901 Alarm DIY!

Good write up, I thought of doing one and had no motivation after installing the alarm. Where did you end up mounting the brain? I double sided taped mine on top of my deck. Have you checked if your door trigger works? I believe I used the same wire as you and mine doesn't work. I read that...

    Dissappearing coolant

Totally forgot about that. The heater core in the dash would probably send coolant on the carpet and you'd smell it though. If the van has rear heat and A/C, sometimes the fittings to the coil will be through the floor and rust through on the bottom. Or the fitting will rupture at the coil.

    taking out seat airbags?

This. There are only a few wires you need to give power and ground to to get the seat to move, the rest are for seat position memory (driver 1 & 2 BS). Blue and red wires are power, black is ground. Both power wires need a 20A fuse and I'd use some 16 gauge or thicker wire. I wouldn't mess...

    clutch assistance plz

Ive had my 8 lb. flywheel for the last 50k and love it. i do about 75% city driving, I don't mind it but it can be a bit touchy if you're not very good at feathering the clutch and throttle.

    Dissappearing coolant

No, if there isn't white crusty **** at the ends of the hoses they're fine. I'd say they should be replaced because of age, but it's a van and it would be a *****. If there was oil in the coolant, the hoses would probably be soft. Not squeezable soft, but a gummy texture to the rubber soft from...

    Timing belt replacement questions

If you don't have anything to hold the crank you can't use a torque wrench. I've torqued a few (using the holding tool) and zipped a few with an impact. Neither have had issues. And yes Nick, it's hard to fit such a long bolt into a tiny hole :naughty:

    Dissappearing coolant

Either it only leaks when the system pressurizes (gets hot) and then evaporates before you can see it or he's burning it (head gasket). Usually if it leaks and evaporate it leaves behind a white crusty residue :naughty: and when it burns the exhaust can have a white smoke and smells like...

rear spring loose on oem strut tower

What Lemmie? He's assembling them himself. Do the springs have "dead" coils? Ones that are spread far apart at the top? Those are to provide pressure when the suspension is completely uncompressed so there's no clanking. On my springs I can assmelbe the rears without a compressor and just...

Re: Russianred's Turbo Build Thread! *UPDATED 5/25* Here's a good guide, disregard the torque specs and orders and everything Camaro related. I talked to a few people and this guide and they both says the studs do not need to be torque, just bottomed out. Don't forget where the shorter (or is...

Are these Racing Sparco Wheels rare!?!

20s on a Civic? I'd like to see him fit those. And how would 4x100 (Civic) wheels fit a 4x114.3mm (Accord) hub? Those wheels are useless to you and anyone on this forum. I don't care if they're stolen or not, you don't meet the requirements to sell them on here and nobody would want them anyways.

    rear strut removal

There are 2 sway bar brackets, so 4 bolts total. This way you take some tension off the bar, but you can reuse the endlinks if you want. The second thing is about the strut. The lower strut bolt has a bracket thinger on both sides that attaches it to the knuckle. I bent them out a little so the...

    taking out seat airbags?

You have to remove the seat back cover and then remove the 2 nuts securing the air bag. Make sure the electrical system is fully disconnected.
