    turns out it was a bad thermostat. i threw the stock one into a pot of boiling water and it didnt open. stock one was supposed to open at 195*. got a new mr. gasket 180* tstat and it popped almost immediately after going into the water. into the stang she went, and it was hovering around 200 at...

    replaced alternator, fixed the problem. ultra awesome. too bad its just a stock 75a replacement. i might upgrade to a 130a later on down the road when i put electric fans in it, but for now, its cool

    Whats your MPG on a full tank?

    im almost at 400 miles for this tank. i do very little highway driving. 90% of my driving is 1 mile to and from work 3-4 times a day. not bad for a car with 145k on it :lawl:

    i just put the seats and center console back in. no carpet. theres still a few panels that need to go in (under the steering wheel trim) but i dont know if i'll put it back. i'm not worried about the interior cosmetically at this point. just wanted to rid myself of mold and rodents

    got the harmonic balancer off and cleaned up a little bit of the oil and dirt under the hood. finished spraying the interior floor with undercoat, and unfortunately going to put the interior back together today

    got the cam bolt off with the rope trick. im not sure if it was the rope, or because i put it in 5th gear instead of 1st. regardless, one more piece and i'll be halfway done :kenny:

    Thanks man. If everything goes exactly how I want it to, I'll be able to drive it to the car wash to spray the engine down by between monday the 2nd and monday the 9th. i totally forgot i had a full week to work on it before i go home, including a weekend. awesome :D

    bottom of the OP :lawl: i got the rad, fan, and accessory belt taken off along with the tension pulley. there is a plate/bracket bolted in that i need to remove, but i dont have the right size wrench to take it off. also gonna need something to take off the crank pulley nut.

    Any other bolts ive taken off so far have been easy enough to do. Ill keep that in mind while doing it. My biggest worry is the crank nut

    I have no idea. Honestly i dont think he does either haha. Once i get it to comfortable running condition ill look into it more. Im gonna pull out the radiator, fan, water pump, crank pulley, harmonic balancer, and timing cover off today and try to clean up a bit. I think the coolant is coming...
