    Is the oil grease like, thick and pasty almost? I'm assuming thats what it is, its on the boot and splattered a bit. The boot seems to be slightly pushed out of a little groove it maybe gets tighened to by the clamp on the rod.

    Okay, so.. new found discovery, drivers side CV joint (the one that got smashed by the fork, the boot is torn and leaking oil). Where can I get a new boot/cover asap?

    Adjusting the height today :) getting closer. However, I need to get those rims/wheels painted before I go or do anything! Looked at my wheels, yea you can see metal mesh.. so... bummer.. more work ahead of me and no time to slow down.

    Okay so for anyone interested, I made a diagram. Basically the top hat was still connected to the car (god I'm an idiot) The spring force was shooting upward and downward and maxing out the load on the arms. But I couldn't push up on the fork because the actual strut had sunk and was lodged...

    Word to the wise, when removing OEM suspension parts, stay off of the phone and pay full attention to your work. Otherwise, you may undo a top-hat from the strut by accident, trust me its one of your worst nightmares. Here's what you end up with, and after several hours of working the strut out...

    No ****, it's a horrid horrid mistake. You will hate yourself for doing it. No.. I've got 3 of 4 on and the pinch bolt on the passengers side is FUQING stuck as all hell and I can't just stand on it like I did for the drivers side smh. Time for a break, I am literally physically exhausted...

    The spring is hitting the top of the wheel well, still in the perch for the strut, its not bolted on top, so its uncompressed. Its putting force against the body of the car and pushing downward on the perch. The perch is attached to the strut which is transfering pressure through the fork to the...
