    Maintenance Light Flashing

^+1 To get rid of it, hold the odometer trip reset button while starting the car until it goes away, or something like that.

Swapping 01 motor in 98, do I need ECU/Key fobs?

The J32 drops in with the exception of the transmission mount. Not sure about the auto tranny. Go with the J35 and bypass the dbw so I can follow in your footsteps. :driving:

Yea, or if they'd offer 12.3" rotors that aren't slotted and drilled.

Thanks that'd be awesome, man. I'll check my clearances after I get out of class today and get back to you.

Occasional delay in shifts from first to second gear, an ideas?

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by a lag. Do the RPMs go up before the car starts to accelerate? When I had the auto tranny for this car (although just for a couple weeks), it was throwing a code for some transmission sensor. The shifting seemed rough in some gears, but not all the time...

    White6GAV6's Coupe (Updated: 04/30/2015) (56k nono)

Yea, I've been using hood spacers. I'd have to cut the hood bracing for sure. Switching to the J37 IM could remedy that and let me (and the engine) breathe easier. If you're satisfied with yours I'd prefer to have them make another set. Do they ship, or would you consider shipping them...

I read up on skid plates and the consensus wasn't good: http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?5230259-Slammed-Mk4-w-skid-plates-MAXIMUM-DAMAGE Where'd you buy your motor mount spacers? I'm seriously considering them. A week without my car has been way too stressful.

    Varnell's '99 J37 Stroker 6MT Coupe EX-L

Re: Varnell's '99 J32 6MT Coupe EX-L Just a small update. I cut a Monster can open with a box cutter and JB Welded it to the oil pan so I could pour some new oil through the engine and check for metal shavings. Yes, they were there, but I had to look for them. She may live yet. Or at least...

    Varnell's '02 Coupe EX 5spd 56k

Finally bypassed my stripped transmission fill bolt. I took off the air intake and unbolted the VSS speed sensor. It's actually easier than using the fill bolt, though you won't know when the transmission has had it's fill. In my case I didn't feel comfortable putting in more than a quart...

    Question about my engine

Are you referring to the plastic engine cover that goes over the J30 and J32? The i4 (4 cylinder), there's no cover.

    Varnell's '99 J37 Stroker 6MT Coupe EX-L

Re: Varnell's '99 J32 6MT Coupe EX-L Hopefully 1/2" off the lower section of the oil pan won't make much of a difference. Maybe half a quart at the most. I can measure the dimensions later. My frame is probably about 5/8" higher than yours. I can only envision the L brackets bending and...

    Varnell's '99 J37 Stroker 6MT Coupe EX-L

Re: Varnell's '99 J32 6MT Coupe EX-L It's must be the world's smallest 'L' bracket. lol. There's no way you have room for that. You'll either end up carving a trench wherever you go or ripping out your frame. My current thought process is to order an oem oil pan so fitment will be as good as...

    Varnell's '99 J37 Stroker 6MT Coupe EX-L

Re: Varnell's '99 J32 6MT Coupe EX-L He has a skid plate now? Last he told me he busted his oil pan getting into his driveway. I'm considering a skid plate, which will be hard since the J32 sits lower than the subframe. Maybe fabricating an oil pan that doesn't sit as low.

    Varnell's '99 J37 Stroker 6MT Coupe EX-L

Re: Varnell's '99 J32 6MT Coupe EX-L I plan on having it looked at. I think it'll be driveable which will give me time to prep another one. I've already found a local J32 from an auto type S with 50k miles. I may look into cams, rods, pistons, etc while the engine is out this time. It's...

    Varnell's '99 J37 Stroker 6MT Coupe EX-L

Re: Varnell's '99 J32 6MT Coupe EX-L The night I drove this car home the J30 oil pan was pouring out oil. Every time I stopped I had to put 5 quarts of oil into it. On my way home from work today I hit a nasty pot hole and smoke started billowing out of the car. I immediately stopped and got...

Teins won't get you that low, for sure. I'm on BC Racing coils with swift springs. Function and Forms are also great for slamming this chassis at a decent price point. I'd still like to consider my coupe on the performance end of the spectrum, although barely. Check out White6GAV6's member's...

J32 is the 3.2L. I'm not sure how much luck you'll have sourcing one since they can be hard to come by stateside. Ah, the door moldings. I've only seen them on just a few coupes. Maybe just the 98 model? I've seen less than a handful of 6GA's look good with 19" wheels. It's just a...

Sounds like you got the Canadian model with heated seats and mirrors. Achievable is relative to your pockets and determination. I've seen mid 300 bhp out of this chassis from the 4 cylinders. As far as a supercharger, the Comptech is the only one I know of and will run you $4-6K. Good luck...

Welcome to 6GA! We've acquired a few UK members recently. Do you have the UK, Euro, or USDM version? I'm assuming the USDM since you said 3.0L and most models outside of the US had smaller displacements. That's no reason not to share your car history. lol What mods have you decided to do?

Just transferred from there to UNCC this Fall. Small world! My frame is maybe an 1.5" off the ground. I had to park in the parking deck by the football field. The one next to the Levine Tech building would have been impossible to go up above the first floor.
