    subwoofer not working/whining noise?

    Time for a new sub... hopefully it doesn't short out the amp. Does it feel grainy when you push in on the sub itself? Prob a fried voice coil. EDIT: it is also possible that the amp is toast, and clipping enough to blow the sub. You need an oscilloscope.
