JDM F23 Swap (the fall and rise of my accord)

Not sure of the above answer, but for those who are interested, I have an update. So the motor has been in for a week or so now. Runs excellent I find the throttle is much more responsive, it sounds healthier and doesn't burn oil :D The only negative is, I have had a couple coolant leaks...

f23a1 to f23a jdm intake problem

My Mechanic just did the swap, and the intake manifold had to be switched, along with some coolant fittings and exhaust manifold. He didn't know of any way. Doesn't mean there isn't. Just my 2cents

JDM F23 Swap (the fall and rise of my accord)

"Re: What is the difference in the F23a reg & Black valve cover???? Exactly the same ****. No need to change any of the plugs or sensors. Just re-use your USDM intake and exhaust manifolds, and you'll be golden. I did the same for my swap and has been running fine for 2 yrs now...

JDM F23 Swap (the fall and rise of my accord)

Hey guys, just an update. I spoke with my Mechanic. (He is a trusted friend of my fathers since before I was born, so I do believe what he says) He had a few snags. He said the intake system was different. he had to switch over the Throttle Body and Intake and a few Coolant components. For...

JDM F23 Swap (the fall and rise of my accord)

I will. Its in the shop as we speak. Only problem is, cause I paid cash. No receipt. No warranty. Taxes here are absurd and it was only a 90 day warranty anyway, so I risked it.

JDM F23 Swap (the fall and rise of my accord)

Got my motor. $350 cash. Motor is super clean. Even my mechanic says its the cleanest used motor he has seen. Will be done this week. Will keep you posted after I get it home and put a few miles on it.

JDM F23 Swap (the fall and rise of my accord)

Thank you so much, this was exactly what I needed to hear. I get my motor tomorrow. Same deal. I will be changing the same things except maybe not the thermostat. I sure hope my experience is like yours. I will let you guys know in a week how it all pans out. Thanks again Gmoney.

Swapping original for same F23A1, Couple Questions...

I didn't realize I'd need all those fluids, but I guess if you have to remove the reservoirs to get them out of the way... Thanks guys. Any other tips? I'm assuming since the motor has 50-75,000 kms on it, there is no breaking in period lol.

Swapping original for same F23A1, Couple Questions...

My car has been burning oil like crazy at anything over 3k rpm... Had it looked at, it is either the rings or valve sleeves supposedly. I've tried lots of those "Products". Not even the slightest bit of improvement. I was going to wait and just keep topping up oil but, the other day, I topped...

    DIY Clutch Pedal Freeplay Adjustment.

One thing I have to add, My Cruise Control stopped working after doing this.:doh2: The reason was that the pedal switch needed to be adjusted. It is the cylinder and little plastic switch that the clutch pedal arm rests against when not being used. Simply loosen the stop nut (the one furthest...

    DIY Clutch Pedal Freeplay Adjustment.

Okay all, I have searched this form and found basic info on this. It didn't answer my questions, so I'm doing a DIY. Here are the two threads that touch on this already http://http://www.6thgenaccord.com/forums/showthread.php?t=37875&highlight=clutch+pedal+adjustment...

    clutch pedal adjustment not working

Figured it out. What I had to do was, put some vice grips on the rod to stop it from moving, than crack the stop nut (13mm). Loosen off the stop nut, than turn the rod the desired way. Mine was turning it counter clockwise to shorten its length. This lessened my freeplay. I checked it to make...

    clutch pedal adjustment not working

Im trying to adjust my clutch pedal release height and cant quite get it. Everytime i try to turn the nut on the back of the cylinder that is directly behind the pedal, the rod that goes through the firewall turns too. I dont want to mess anything up, but i cant get my head behind to see what...

    DBW(drive by wire) throttle body

I left my res on, and just swapped the muffler to a high flow. It sure doesn't rumble but it is surprisingly deeper than I had thought, and not as loud as I thought. I was used to having civics with no res and a straight through. They were 1.5 - 1.7L's, this is a 2.3 and seems to be much deeper...

    Weird side airbag light problem.

Reviving this, Any solve? I have my Side airbag light come on by myself on a hard corner, and I had it come on with my wife in the driver seat. She is about 125lbs. Lots of little "quirks" in these cars.
