Re: What did you do today Detailing related?
Thank you Brad. You have two very common problems that people will experience after bringing their car into a shop for a respray. Luckily, both problems have solutions to fix or improve. I am going to isolate each problem and suggest proven methods...
Re: What did you do today Detailing related?
Thanks Davis! He treated me to a good dinner, ending with boba. For the tires, I applied one coat of Optimum Opti Bond tire gel. Let it air dry 15 mins so it doesn't sling. It will give the matte look/low shine. Before applying, make sure to use a...

Washed my car yesterday.
Even new tires need tire dressing. Only use water based to nourish and moisturize the rubber.
It's the small details that always matter. A clean wheel/tire will provide some contrast to the surrounding area.
Re: What did you do today Detailing related?
Sorry for the late reply. The color code is 1H2. It's called Dark steel Mica.
Judy, Not bad durability. I might give it a try on my dad's van for experiment.
Re: What did you do today Detailing related?
Continuation for Part 2 now.....
Starting point for quarter panel. I got a little lucky here because after I looked a little closer it seemed the clear film protected the paint underneath.
Here, I am using a hair dryer to heat up and...
Re: What did you do today Detailing related?
Thanks for the compliment bro.
Great shot! I have not used Aquapel yet, but heard it's a good overall product. Do you know how long it lasts Judy? Do the beads fly off the windows, and starting at what speed does it start sliding off...
Re: What did you do today Detailing related?
A little background story on this car. A good friend of mine went to Ikea to purchase some stuff. He said he misjudged the cement parking poles and went around it too close and side swiped his right rear door and quarter panel. He does not plan on...

Nice update Judy! I was wondering if it would look cleaner with no eyelids and clear lense for foglights.
Re: What did you do today Detailing related?
A friend stopped by yesterday with a little self caused accident on his car. He took a turn too close & fast near a pole and side swiped his door and quarter panel. I will be helping him improve as much as I can since he does not plan to repair it. I...
I need to know the history of the car's paint before we do any guess and check work on it. To the best of your knowledge, is the paint on the hood OEM or Aftermarket refinished? Is your car clean title or salvaged? Does it sit outside the rain&sun 24/7? Can you feel it with your finger? What...
Re: What did you do today Detailing related?
A little background information on the seats I was working on. The seats are from a 02 M3 with black nappa leather which is coated. My friend is planning to drive it for a little while to enjoy it before he decides to sell or keep it. There were 2...
Re: What did you do today Detailing related?
I didn't have time to edit any pics out of the 100 shots taken yet, so I'm just going to post 2 pics really quick. I will post more pics later.
Before: The leather was really shiny with dirt, sweat, and previous conditioner applied.
After...
Re: Update!!!Brad2274's 1999 V6 Pearl red Coupe
Nice updates Brad. Do you plan on going a different route with your grill, or sticking with the black mesh one? Also, the headlights could use some polishing to improve the clarity...

You have pictures of your hard work?
Going to clean my friend's M3 black leather seats tomorrow. Gonna try to get a clean shot of the seats for my website I'm currently working on.
Re: What did you do today Detailing related?
Friend dropped by for a maintenance wash.
Foamed it up as usual to help break down the dirt.
Finished shots
Initial pre foam to help loosen and break up any surface dirt that's not embedded to the paint that would require...
Re: What did you do today Detailing related?
Roy, a pre rinse is always a good practice when washing your car. If you do not have a foam gun/cannon, rinsing the car down with a hose will be sufficient enough to knock off the loose dirt that's not embedded or require agitation from your wash...
