Haha, used to work in a machine shop, I've seen some pretty small helicoils, they exist.

    Valve Cover Woes

So, pulling off my valve cover the other day, I noticed a rater terrible thing. Two of the studs came off with metal on them. I inspected the holes, and sure enough, they're stripped.... Some moron of a PO decided to over torque them, I assume. one of the bolts still torques properly, the other...

    R3dC4p's 2000 EX Sedan 'Weiss'

I do feel the pain of the northerners, I promise. I'm originally from Northeastern PA. right on the New York State border. I spent many, many hours with Bondo, Fiberglass, and sheet metal to make new rockers, repair rear quarter... etc. North Carolina is a breath of fresh air when it comes to...

Timing belt is a good idea, I have no idea when it was last replaced, didn't actually think of that. And I'll get some more pics of it tomorrow before I actually get to cleaning it up. Interior needs some... Work. Haha

    R3dC4p's 2000 EX Sedan 'Weiss'

Honestly, I'm not all that comfortable doing a manual swap, and I don't know anyone that would. I'm debating between keeping it stock and well maintained as far as power-train goes, or J/H swapping. Problem with a Jswap is that the auto transmissions aren't exactly stout.

Haha, there's a pic and a list in the members rides forum. Not much work, honestly. Suspension stuff, wheel bearing, some gaskets. Got it from a friend.

    Enne's 1999 Accord LX sedan 2.3 L - Selene

That spray job looks phenomenal, I think I've seen your ride on another Honda forum back when I had my civic. When I respray my Accord, I'm actually planning on using airwrap because of your posts. :P Also, Greetings from North Carolina, fellow Pennsylvanian!

    R3dC4p's 2000 EX Sedan 'Weiss'

Here she is, finally, 270,000 miles of twisted steel and sex appeal. Well. Not yet. She needs some work, but the body is in fantastic shape. First step is getting her back to oem spec. To-do: Valve cover gasket Distributor seal Tune up Struts all-round Wipe the stupid srs light. Wheel bearing...

    Transmission alternatives?

Anyway, Thanks for the help, I'll for sure keep everyone posted on my progress. I'm starting a thread once I can post pictures. :)

    Transmission alternatives?

All those signals from the sensors are just voltages. The ECU reads them and interprets them, then decides =what to do with it. AEM has a piggy back that basically forwards good signals to your ECU and does the controlling itself. Shouldn't throw emissions with it. Runs around 300$ Look up AEM F/IC.
  14. R

    Transmission alternatives?

Hahaha, Never heard of said channel. I do have to pass emissions, sadly. I have heard of someone rigging a p28 to piggyy back off of the stock ECU in a low boost scenario? Might have to do some research there. I know you can spoof sensor signals too. In the end, might just be an AEM F/IC. I've...

    Transmission alternatives?

I love a good challenge! I also like that my accord was practically free (250$ from a friend) and needs no body work. I hate doing body work. :P I might consider a swap at a later date, or a different accord, but it was a really cheap, good condition car, and for now, I want to see where...

    Transmission alternatives?

You are lucky. Unfortunately, I have had no such luck finding a v6 6th gen for less than 2-2500. People just aren't getting rid of them around here. I can't even find an f23 with a 5 speed in it. At all. and either way, I'm not interested in j-swapping right now. Swaps are boring. I want to see...

Greetings from North Carolina, I recently picked up a 2000 Accord EX Sedan In Tafetta White For a meager 250 bucks, and I'm glad to finally have a reason to do more than Lurk on this board! I'll have a thread up for her once I can post pictures. :P

    Transmission alternatives?

I mean, I could stay NA, do I/E/H, and a tune, but then I would only be netting around 170. Maybe. On a really good day. If I could poke 200 na without tearing apart the engine, I would, I just don't think it's feasible. Also, one of the reasons I'm set on low boost is that I live near a upull...
  19. R

    Transmission alternatives?

Haha. I understand that, but the up front cost for a J-swap is significantly higher, and therefore harder to pull of on a budget than a small boost on the f23, and it's a lot more labor intensive. While I could pull it off, I simply don't have the time or the money to drop all at once on it, and...

    Transmission alternatives?

Mainly money. A j series swap with ECU and necessary things costs a whole lot more than a new f23 and tranny. I can get the engine with transmission attached for between 500-750, and then turbo it later for less than a grand. ends up coming out just shy of a j swap depending on where I source my...

    Transmission alternatives?

I'm probably not gonna track it or auto-correct it unless I get someone to MT swap it. Haha. I just want a little more pickup and a few more ponies. Maybe touch 200-220 hp if I can. Stiffen up the suspension a bit and then all cosmetics.

Bahh. I was hoping there was a tougher auto I could use. Now I just have to find someone in North Carolina that will do the swap.

    Transmission alternatives?

So i'm the proud owner of a not all that new sixth gen with a grand total of 270,000 miles on it. Needles to say, i'm going to be swapping it asap. Well. I say swapping. I would prefer to keep an f23 in it and boost it a smidge, but I know the automatic transmission won't handle it very well...
