    WTH is this part?

It doesn't look like it, unless another part is missing. One of the bolts was still installed, and I can see where the other both is supposed to attach. There is nothing but a lot of air above the plate.

    WTH is this part?

Right, it's also to the left, vs. centered like a front plate bracket would be. C'mon, somebody has to know what it is.

    WTH is this part?

I just saw this plate in the lower part of my lower front bumper. One of the bolts was loose, which is why it looks kind of sideways in the first pic (looking down at the radiator). The other pic is of the loose plate. Looks like I should be able to reach through the bumper to reinstall it, but...

Yeah, something is wrong. Mine comes on at about 1/8 tank.

    350 block

OP - go for it. Anything is possible with enough $$$. A somewhat common mod over in the Jaguar world is to drop a Chevy 350 in the XJ6 and XJ12. Companies make conversion kits for it.

oil leak?! how to find it?

You could try switching from your full synth to a high mileage oil like Valvoline Maxlife synth blend. It's not going to solve your problem since you're losing a quart/1K miles, but it may slow it down.

    Brake Suggestions Needed

Since you mentioned OEM...I got my OEM front pads from bernardiparts.com for $38. Not a lot more than some of the cheaper pads + it included grease and new shims.

Friend is going to remove his powersteering...how do I stop him?

Since there is virtually no drag on the engine when the compressor is turned off your hp gain from removing it will probably be closer to zero. Also, since you won't be using the A/C the seals throughout the system will dry out - only a problem if you ever plan on using the A/C again.

    intake problem

Heat soak is at least part of your problem - your SRI is sucking up all the hot air under the hood as you inch along in traffic.

    Tranny issue =(

After telling you it might be okay...if it's "pretty violent" and the car is "jumping and shaking" you have more going on than the normal 2-1 shift.

    Tranny issue =(

HondaLuver - we've argued about this before. No desire to do that again. I have no doubt that a bad 2-1 shift led to your trans crapping out. RedAccord - you may or may not have a problem. When I'm doing a rolling stop the 2-1 shift usually doesn't come until 4-5 mph. That may be the...

It probably wouldn't be as loud as you describe, but you might want to look for a busted sway bar end link.

    decent all season tires...suggestions?

I've got Goodyear ComforTreds on my Accord and TripleTreds on our van. Happy with both and the price is reasonable if you can wait for a sale.

    Transmission advice please help

If you can confirm that the shop has done a 2.3L M/T swap that would be the way to go. He should be able to provide references. You said it's your only car, so the last thing you need is for your car to turn into a lab experiment as these guys try to figure it out and locate all the parts the...

    Another tranny thread smh....

What did you see on the drain plug? A light film on the plug is okay...or did you see shavings/chunks of metal? I'd change the ATF again to get it looking like new. If it's still shifting hard pour half a bottle of Lubegard Red in it. It won't hurt and may help for a while. Then start...

Airbag recall - Honda claiming more Accord's with issue?

DIY section? I called my dealer when the recall first came out. They said to just keep checking the owner link you posted above. I think that's about all you can do on this issue...that and don't get in a wreck.

There was recall on the ignition switch (engine kills at random) for the earlier 6thGens. You might want to check that.

Trying to make my accord more fun and pass, questions smog

Interesting theory...no sarcasm intended. I just wonder how smart it would be to have an air intake opening pointing out the front bumper. Think of all the shyte you scrape off the bumper and how dinged up it gets from road debris.

How to clean under the hood

Under "How not to clean under the hood..." I test drove an 05 Accord recently at a Lexus dealer. The engine bay was spotless and everything shined like new. When I pulled the ATF dipstick a bunch of white flakes jumped out at me. This stuff was caked on the plug and I could see a bunch of...

so today my tranny crapped out

Sorry to hear about your trans. Dealers generally don't rebuild - they just swap in a factory reman trans. $3500 sounds about right. A local shop can probably rebuild yours for a lot less.
