    DIY: V6 Hood Damper Installation for 4cyls. (hood struts, lifts, shocks)

    I used the mending plate. It doesn't look too bad! I like it. I want to point out that you will need to file the hole in the hood maybe 1/8" all around if you want to use the mending plate. I didnt feel like hooking up the electric to use my dremel. Life is hard for us garage-less modders.

    So I did what you recommend. Got a shiny alternator from pull a part. I swapped it with my noisy and alternator and now I hear less noise. I would say the whining is 50% quieter. Its better than nothing and for $20 I'll take it. Is there anything i can do to my old alternator to fix the noise?

    Update: I replaced the canister vent shut valve as outlined in the above posted thread. 17310-S0X-A0 i went with a dorman valve from rockauto. It was like $25. I also didnt have to replace the canister itself. All of my issues are now gone and all is well. Thanks guys
