DIY OEM Steering Wheel Controls with Aftermarket Stereo

It's taken me 2.5 years to get this on here (thanks to Deviousjet for reminding me!), but here is the DIY for making your OEM steering wheel controls compatible with aftermarket head units. 1. Buy a SWI-PS Steering Wheel Interface Control or other version if needed...

    Wheel volume control?

I'm not exactly sure how you would wire steering wheel controls for an LX since I haven't seen one personally, but I'm sure it could be done. Like I showed in the DIY, there really is just one signal wire that runs to the head unit's harness. So if you could successfully mount the steering...

    new Pioneer FH-P8000BT

Mill- I've got the same deck and yeah its awesome. I ran the mic behind and into the left center vent...just a lil dab of superglue and you can't even see it. Also helps with noise reduction if you have your windows down. I ran the ipod cable into the glovebox and after I trimmed out the...

    Help with brakes please!

Alright I finally got my brakes fixed last night. It ended up just being the caliper piston was still too far out and we had to crank it back to almost being inside the caliper. When I first did the brakes I figured it would be good enough if I could get the caliper back on and it looked like...

    Help with brakes please!

Well I tried everything to no avail last night...still rubbing on the rotors pretty badly. I'm taking it to my buddy's house so he can look at it so I'll get back with what he finds tomorrow...

    Help with brakes please!

haha no its not...this was my first time with brakes. Front took me jsut over 90 mins to take off everything and get new rotors and pads on. Back took about 6 hrs becuase I didn't know you had to screw in the rear pistons and not use a clamp and the whole rubbing thing. If it wasn't for that...

    Help with brakes please!

Oh I'm gonna try the e-brake adjust as well but can someone tell me what the rear console lid is? Thanks Adjustment: NOTE: After rear brake caliper servicing, loosen the parking brake adjusting nut, start the engine and press the brake pedal several times to set the self-adjusting brake...

    Help with brakes please!

The front calipers had the slide pins if I'm understanding correctly..bout 3 inches long and one had a rubber end? But the rear calipers just had two 12mm bolts. I'll try filing the tabs and see how that works....seems pretty crazy that they don't come the correct size but eh I guess it can't...

    Help with brakes please!

@finch When its on the stands both of the rear wheels drag when spun...front are fine. I didn't relube the slide pins on the calipers...I'll have to look for those. It's a pretty extreme rubbing, so I'm not sure that would be the biggest problem. One question about the pad install though -...

    Help with brakes please!

Thanks yeah I've got discs on all four. I opened the caliper piston as far as possible using a handy dandy hundred dollar advance auto parts rental kit.

    Help with brakes please!

I just replaced my pads and rotors yesterday front and rear, but my rear brakes are rubbing quite a lot. I took off the caliper and adjusted the pads on each wheel at least 5 times but they still rub even when I'm not braking at all... This is my first time doing brakes so I was wondering if I...

This is the site I was looking at before for the BC2 kit... $410. Brad the links you posted were $602. Deal? or is this some knock off of a knock off? lol http://www.aerotrends.com/eMerchantPro/pc/viewPrd.asp?idcategory=317&idproduct=6532 Thanks!

    Wrecked front end...need help.

I was just looking at the BC2 again as most of my lip kit options are falling through and I don't like what options I have left to explore... I lucked out and my girlfriends dad used to own a dealership here, so I'm getting an OEM bumper painted and installed for a cool $250. SO that...

Could I have Honda paint the bumper? I'd really rather spend more $$ and have one shade of silver on my car than something that looks like I'm ridin in the shade.... There's gotta be someone that can color match well enough so I can't tell the difference.

So I'm sold on the OEM lip kit...but I keep seeing that it's only for 98-00??? Does honda make one for the 01-02s? And either I'm retarded or nobody sells these things anymore...I haven't found one for sale yet...guess I'll keep lookin:boohoo:

    Wrecked front end...need help.

Alight I've got the bumper squared away, but still need to paint. Still seems like $300 is a lot to spray a bumper cover as it needs no masking since its off the car... Anyway, I'm trying to figure out how to go about the whole ground effects dilemma. I think the BC2 bodykit looks real nice...
