    Sub not responding well?

    Is it a dual voicecoil sub? If so, you probably need to reverse the wiring on one of the coils. If they are hooked up out of phase, they are basically fighting each other.

    amp to factory radio?

    What is the model of your amplifier? Some have line-level inputs on them as well as RCA inputs. If it has line-level inputs, you can hook your speaker wire into it, that's where it gets the signal.
