    Throwing out an idea

The engine now turns the other way with a lot of machine work for the head. The reason for this is because they use an x-trac sequential transmission which requires that the motor rotate opposite the stock direction for most older Hondas.

H22 or F20b... Which is easier?

I had an F20B installed in my 6th Gen, put out 146 WHEEL TQ and 178 WHEEL HP stock motor, with a SRI cheap crappy DC Sports Header (2" collector) and a 2.25" Exhaust. Wiring will be 100% identical for BOTH swaps, but the F20B will be mechanically easier to throw in since it came from the same...

    ECU Question

All the bolt-ons are the same between H22 and F20B. The only differences between the manual and automatic F20B motors are the cams and the throttle body. Other than that, its the EXACT same thing. Take this from somebody who has taken apart both an auto and a manual F20B :)

Timing Belt and Water Pump chage problem...

Yes. The balancer shaft belt is useless from a performance stand point. All it does is reduce engine vibration to increase occupant comfort. You can just leave it off if you want. Whether or not it ups your mileage, in theory sounds about right. Practically, could be hear-say... As for the OP...

    ECU Question

Don't try to run the F20B on the stock ECU... The AEM is 100% useless for 99% of people. Basically, it is a decent ECU if you want one thing to control everything, and you have many things to control, i.e. extra injectors, boost pressure, water/meth injection, etc. They aren't the easiest to...

    Amazing skunk2!!!

I am really not a fan of Skunk2, and I am honestly not sure why. I just never got to liking anything they offered. They had a few issues with earlier products, but I haven't heard anything about the new stuff as yet. What I will say is to stay away from their throttle bodies. They had a recall...

    g23 question

It makes no difference. The head is mechanical, the OBD version is electrical. The head will bolt on with minor modifications, all you need to worry about is the electronics. Any OBD1/OBD2 distributor will work, just remember that the USDM dizzy's are external coil, and the JDM dizzy's are...

    Future F20B Swap

F20B's are open deck. They are very similar castings to the H22, but the combustion chamber is the same size as the H23. (smaller than the H22). You can use an H22 head gasket no problem. If you payed $400 for one, there is one happy shop that has you as a customer. Also, unlike the H22, the...

    P28 questions?

When you swap to OBD1 you can do away with the immobilizer and all the emissions crap. eCtune can provide a great basemap for F22s, I don't believe it has the F23 in its inventory of basemaps. It depends what software your tuner will be using. Just tow the car to the dyno and tune it on start-up :)

    Urethane Suspension Bushings

Does anybody know of a company that makes urethane suspension bushings for our Accords? Neither Energy suspension nor Prothane make anything for the 6th Gen. :( Thanks!

    Opinions: F20B Superchargered

Allow me to restate and be politically correct. Most people in this thread haven't driven an F20B. Happy now? :jerkit: I was stating just to make a point.

    Opinions: F20B Superchargered

The main problem with F20B swaps is the ECU. Most people use an H22 ecu, which is at best a good base map, but in NO way anywhere NEAR what the F20B needs to run optimal. I used an H22 as a starting map when I tuned my motor, and believe me when I say that the changes made to the map were BIG.I...

    Opinions: F20B Superchargered

Well then... I replaced my first engine because I was an idiot and used spark plugs that were too hot. AKA, I melted a spark plug and ****ed up a cylinder. NOW, I am swapping out my F20B because I need a motor in my Accord in case my winter beater blows up. I don't want to have to start my F20...

    Opinions: F20B Superchargered

I would, but its too late in the season, and the F20B is already out. And no way in hell would the H23 beat the F20B :booty::p

    Opinions: F20B Superchargered

Have you ever had an F20B Accord? Everybody seems to say its a waste. Right now I am putting an H23 into the Accord for winter in case my beater blows up (which is very likely). I'll let you guys know personally how it feels comapared to the F20B. (It's being mated to the F20B tranny, so thats...

    Opinions: F20B Superchargered

Absolutely not. The F20B has the same gear ratios as an USDM H22 with an LSD. Less torque, perhaps, but we are talking about POWERBAND here when it comes to pulls. Around town, sure, the F23 will be more pleasant to drive, but in terms of quicker? The F20B wins. Take this from somebody with an...

    MSD and Safeguards for turbo

The stock Honda IGN system is good to 500 HP, even with the stock carbon core wires. I can't give you a definite source on it, but if you search the web a bit, I am certain you will read it in numerous places, with first hand experiences. The cheapest way around any of this would be to use a...

    overheating problem....

Throw it in a pot of water on the stove, and have a thermometer in there as well. When the temp reaches ~95 Celsius, it should open. Yours will stay shut though. When it is ON the car, you lower rad hose would have been cool to the touch. The heater fan brought the temp down because its inside...
