I have XS-Power headers

Supplies Needed (summitracing.com)

- DEI Header Wrap 50' x 2" (I used Black PN: 010108)
- (2) 8 Pack 8" Aluminum Ties (14 Needed in total for V6) PN:010201
- 4 Pack 14" Aluminum Ties (2 Needed in total for V6) PN: 010202

- Tape Messurer
- Rubber Gloves (wrap contains fiberglass which will make you itch)
- Metal Cutting Plyers/ TinSnips/Scissors (Cut wrap to size, and cut excess off metal ties)
- Bucket of water

This process is easiest done with headers off the car. Use the bucket of water to soak the wrap, which makes it easier to wrap around the pipes. When you pull it tight it will slightly expand, and when it dies it will contract for a nice tight wrap.

*NOTE: Wrap as tight as POSSIBLE.

1) Middle Exhaust Ports (both sides)

- Cut 2 strips 2ft 6inches long. (30 inches)
- Soak in water (a few seconds will be fine, it's just to make it flexible)

- Take 1 strip, overwrap about an Inch, so you can pull and it doesn't slide off. Use a about a 1/2" overlap down the pipe.
- After you get a few inches down apply 1 8" Metal Tie to the top of the pipe(this is to make sure it wont come off as you continue down.) Cut excess of the tie off

- Wrap in the same process until the bottom and then overlap once.(you should have just enough to do so.
- Apply 1 8" metal tie to the bottom. cut excess off
- Repeat on other side

2)Outside Exhaust port (left or right, it doesnt matter)

- Cut 2 strip 3ft long (36 inches)
- Repeat the same process above
- At the bottom, overlap with the middle pipe, this will insure that you are covering everything.
- Apply the metal tie over the pipe you are in the process of wrapping, and cut excess off

- Repeat on other side

3) The Last Outside Port

- Cut 2 strips 4ft long (48 inches) (this includes the extra to wrap around all 3 at the bottom)
- Repeat steps from # 1
- About 2.5" from the bottom start to overwrap all 3 pipes (this is where you use the 14" metal tie)
- Wrap as tight as possible and apply 1 14" metal tie(cut off excess)
- Repeat on other side

4) J Pipe

- Cut 1 strip 7feet 6inches long (90 inches) (this is for the 1 bend side)
- Cut 1 strip 8feet long (96 inches) (this is for the J bend side)
-repeat same process as # 1 using 2 8" ties on each side( top and bottom)

Well it can also help crack the metal/welds as well since its insulating more heat and not letting it vent. I prefer ceramic coating. I guess you can tell the cop that the CARB badge is covered by the heat wrap ;) I'm probably going to wrap my upper radiator hose so it doesnt come into as much heat contact with the blower outlet manifold so it doesn't heat up the air charge.

It's not best on ceramic coated headers. ceramic coated headers also crack easier and rust but to me it's all about opinion it's not like we have to run some custom race header with a high output motor lol :( My motor temps have dropped a decent amount since the wrap and I'm not worried about cracking a header but there have been mixed reviews with exhaust wrap. Oh what about them carb stickers :) not like the cops care I know in my state they could care less. As long as you don't let water and other crap sit in the wrap you have nothing to worry about I've seen people run wrap for years.
