I am planning to swap in LED onto my gauges.

I have a few questions though.

When you removed the cluster, how was the wiring connected? Is just like a pull out and plug back in easy?

Also, over here http://i356.photobucket.com/albums/oo10/lemon801/IMG_0251.jpg

You can see that there is one bulb that has a black wire connected to it? Can someone expand more on this?

I am planning to buy the leds from ledautomotive.com

Saw their instructions and it looks real easy besides those two questions that I had.

While I'm at it, Hyper White or RED?

The black wires run to the light on top of the cluster. They just power that.

There are 2 (or 3, I can't remember) wire harnesses to unplug. You'll have to finagle it around to get to them (tilt it downwards to access them). After that, you are home free.

I'm not a fan of the red. My buddy did that in his 6th gen and I hate it. I like the hyperwhite, but it will still be a little colored so just remember that. Personally, I would do green (I know they are a little green stock, but I think it would look cool if they were REALLY green!)

white doesnt show up white unless you do a lot more work. and red looks good anyway.

superbrightleds.com then? They will ship the exact same thing as ledautomotive right? No extra work needs to be done to get the bulbs to fit?

Sorry to be a noob but I have no idea of anything on superbrightled.com. What kind of bulb do I need? I just want the odometer and the gauges. Hyper White would be nice.

Do we replace just the bulb or also the bulb holder?

I got it that I need 196/168 and 74 bulbs. There are many different types of these on superbrightleds.com which is the best combination? I know I want one with 360 degree lighting?

can someone point out where the 196/168 bulbs are and where the 74 bulbs are on this pic?

also, do you replace the entire while holder with what you buy or do you take it out and replace the bulb that it holds?

Did you try searching? I'm positive I've seen at least one DIY here.

when you unplug the connectors, you can plug it back in easily. each connectors are in different sizes so you can't plug in the wrong place.

each plastic cover is a wedge bulb including the one with the wire on it.. you can replace them all if you like.

and i would go with white LED because i like white people. :jarred:

Go with red man

IMO, it looks the best on our clusters compared to all the other colors
