So this boys and girls, is my 2001 accord.

I havent really put much work into it, but im thinking about swapping the engine for a j32. Anyways, here are some pics. enjoy :)

The outside, no rust what so ever. Has been sprayed every year since purchase.

On the back I've added muffler tips and blacked out the back lights.

The trunk I used to have, these 12" bad boys occupy it, now there is barley any space left in there :p

This is also in the trunk, this amp feeds to all the speakers in the car, all switched over to memphis speakers by the way.

This amp is mounted on the back seat also in the trunk and powers the jackhammer subs.

The deck i just put in, not sure if you guys can see it, but there is an equalizer underneath it.

And last but not least, under the hood, only thing changed in here is the short ram.

Good start, car looks to be in great shape.

You may have a good auto tranny, but even swapping in a 3.2, it will still be robbed of alot of its power. I would do a 6spd swap instead, though that is more expensive.

Oh, I thought the j32 was a 6spd? Or am I thinking of something else?
What would you recommend?

^The J32 is a motor from the Acura 01-03 CL Type-S and 02-03 TL Type-S. All the J32’s in the TL were mated with automatic transmissions, and the J32’s in the CL were mated with autos from 01-03, with some of those being mated with manual transmissions in 03 only.

If you do anything, I would recommend swapping the 4spd auto you have now for a 6spd manual, over swapping the J30 for the J32. It’s just not worth going to the trouble of swapping a motor with that auto tranny still in there.

Yeah, I was planning on swapping the tranny over to a 6spd. But I'm wondering what would be the best bet for a new motor? I'm looking to get the most horsepower out of my car, and possibly putting a turbo in it in the future.

Preparing to do a swap like this within itself can be time consuming unless you outsource it completely. I was "this" close to doing it and had I of had an extra week and a half and about 700 more dollars, it would have happened. Just be wise and read up before you even consider it.

Common motor choices are the J32 or J35.

But swapping the transmission will unleash the horses being stifled by your auto, a 6spd J30 is still pretty awesome.
