Best bet is take it to a shop, if you are low enough on r134a the compressor wont engage. I wouldnt try the hot shot cans sold in the autopart stores as its possible to add to much. Also if the compressor has crapped out the system needs to be drained before it can be replaced. Its against federal law to vent the system into the air and r134a is contributing to greenhouse gases when its illegally vented. Lol sorry just had to take a new ase cert for being able to purchase r134a at our shop so just read up on it. Any shop that does ac work can quickly hook up gauges and see what its at. If i remember right the ac fan wont engage until a signal is sent from the condenser, so start with that first. Hope this helps.
