Anyone ever use MACCO?

My front bumper needs a repaint and i was just wondering if people had any good feedback on macco? Ill probably prep it myself and bring it down there off the car so they don't put over spray on it, but what do people think?

well, people whine (as if they're experts on paint somehow ad nauseum ) about them sometimes because they just happened to have a bad experience/can't take care of the paint on their car after the fact regardless, but really for the price they're not bad

you should inspect some of their work at the specific shop you have in mind, that's the only real way of telling if their staff cuts corners or doesn't put in all their effort

it can be very shop specific with them

yea i hear its all about where you go. My local shop is supposed to be pretty good! I could prep it to feel confident they wont just get lazy and spray away.

I have a few friends that have gone to macco and they always said if you prep the your car yourself macco paint jobs are just as good as anywhere else

I also hear that you should ask to see the person that will be doing the rest of the prepping and just give em $50 as an incentive and another $50 if it comes out well in the end.

dropped the front and rear bumpers off yesterday! I finished them with 800 grit before the drop off to make sure it was sanded proper. The shop had some nice work on display in their shop so i didnt feel that scared haha.

Bottom line is that they will color match both for $425 which is a steal.

That's not a bad price. I agree, it can be very shop specific. A buddy of mine had his entire car redone. While it looked good and lasted a few years, it's starting to show signs of wear already. He's not the most meticulous person I know but he cares more about his paint than most people.

That aside, I've always heard that they're good for a few years but in the end, you're getting what you pay for.

The only negative I've heard about them is that they mix the clear coat with the paint, instead of doing it in separate steps. I've never actually been; though.

I made sure they two stage paint it with DuPont paint. The mixed paint they use is Sherman Williams and its crap!
