I know this is a long shot, but I have searched and googled everything I could and still cant find a solution. I have a Astra 777 alarm that came with the car when I bought it. I bought another remote for it since I only had one. I downloaded the manual online to program it. I went through all the steps with both remotes and according to manual they both sounded like they programmed fine. I go to try and lock the car with the new remote and it didn't work, so I tried the old remote (which did work) and that one didn't work either. I also tried reprogramming just the old remote and that didn't work. They both have good batteries. Any have any idea what else I can do? I'm beginning to think I wont get it to work.

Adding/Replacing 2-way LCD Transmitters (2 LCD remotes maximum)
When adding an optional 2-way LCD transmitter to the system, follow these steps:
1. Turn on the ignition key On, Off, On, Off, On, Off, and back On. (Key On 4 times)
· The siren will chirp 4 times.
2. Press and hold the Override switch for 5 seconds.
· The siren will chirp 4 times.
· The LED will illuminate.
3. Press Button 1 on the first transmitter, then on the second transmitter.
· The siren will chirp once for each transmitter learned.
4. Turn off the ignition key.
5. The siren will chirp 3 times to indicate the system has exited programming mode.

Is that the procedure you followed?

I don't have an LCD pager just the 5-button 1-way remote. It was similar to that procedure. The only thing was that the LED on the Valet switch didn't light up, but the one on my dash did.

This is what I followed:

Adding/Replacing One-Way Transmitters
To replace lost or stolen transmitters or to add additional transmitters into the system, have all
desired transmitters ready and follow the steps below.
Note: Up to 4 one-way transmitters can be programmed to operate the system. Any previously
stored transmitter code will be erased if it is not programed within the following sequence.
To program the transmitter(s):
1. Turn on the ignition key On, Off, On, Off, and back On.
· The siren will chirp 3 times.
2. Press and hold the Override switch for 5 seconds.
· The siren will chirp 5 times.
· The LED will illuminate.
3. Press Button 1 on the first transmitter.
· The siren will chirp once.
4. Press Button 1 on the first transmitter again.
· The siren will chirp twice to indicate it has learned the code.
5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 for each transmitter (up to 4).
6. Turn off the ignition key.

Yes it chirped when it was suppose to. I have read with other astra alarms sometimes the remotes can get out of sync but I tried the few things they suggested doing and it didn't work.

You were definitely right about this being a longshot. That's the unfortunate part of these types of aftermarket parts. Any chance on any wiring being off? Faulty door/trunk sensor?
