Hello 6ga,

This just happened today:

My friend was on the road, and apparently has a small gash in his rubber brake hose (just finished replacing it an hour or two ago). After replacing this brake hose, fluid will not flow from the reservoir when trying to bleed the brakes. Unfortunately my friend needs his car ASAP, so we were wondering if the master brake cylinder needs to be replaced because when pressing the brake, no pressure will build no matter how much we pump it, and it sounds like the master cylinder is sucking up gurgling fluid. It's weird.

Any immediate help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks in advance 6ga

Does any brake fluid come out when disconnecting the brake line from the caliper?

Just reading through some websites during class; try bench bleeding the master cylinder since it went dry. Possible air in the ABS, but not as likely.

I'll try that, just do note that there is no pressure in the system and when adding fluid to the master cylinder reservoir it doesn't get sucked down in and it barely moves.
