can anyone fix? I'd like to do a proper intro thread, and get a writeup started, but i cant link my photobucket (or anything else for that matter) for a week...

It's a thing to stop spammers. Because spammers always post links in their topics, so making the new user wait a week gets rid of the possibility of a spammer even posting.
