Been looking online, but can't find any resolution. Was wondering if anyone can help me out. I bought an unlocked Samsung Note 8 (T-mobile variant) straight from samsung a few months ago. Everything worked great on t-mobile. A couple weeks back, I switched my carrier to MetroPCS with unlimited hotspot plan. Everything was successfully transferred over for all 3 phone EXCEPT that now the Note 8's tethering doesn't work. I can turn it on and other devices recognize the signal and are able to connect to it, but no data flows in (can't load a webpage, etc). I asked MetroPCS to troubleshoot for me and after a while, they told me that it is something with the phone. I called t-mobile support and after a couple simple tests in safe mode, they told me to just do a factory reset... i've read some people messing the APNs on the Sprint variant, but nothing on the t-mobile variant. Any phone gurus here?
I have been with Samsung's Galaxy S series since 2012, and this isn't a common issue on the Verizon variants. I think you should try a hard factory reset and see if the problem is there or not. If it is still there, ask Samsung or MetroPCS (or T-Mobile) for a replacement phone.
