That write up is pretty complete. Im not sure what the problem is. Im also not sure why people are trying to do all the splicing into the AT circuit instead of simply running the 5 wires that need to be run.
The VSS it self has 3 wires, one is power, one is ground and one is the signal. The signal wire needs to go to 2 places, the ECU and the gauge cluster. The write has the wires going through the multiplexers in an OEM fashion, the correct way. But you dont need to do it that way if you feel it makes this more complicated.
I just did all this to my emissions motor last summer, the one I got from the junk yard was an auto.
All the resources are here people, all the wiring colors, all the surrounding wire colors, all the connectors, everything. The next step would be doing it for you.
