Okay, so on the last forum, I spoke of upgrading my J30A1 engine. In that last forum I decided I'm not going to upgrade my engine, now Im going to save up for an engine and tranny swap (since I have an auto). Now I have a fork in the road and need some people who know Accords to help me out...

1) J32 - I like the V6, but if there is someone who says I should go J32, which one should I go for? J32A2?

2) JDM H22A - Its more popular to build on

Basically my goal is to make my Accord throw people off when I bring it to the race track (turbo/supercharged, and all that jazz)

And also, for either engine can I put a 6 speed on with that? or is the 6 speed only for the J32?

any help is greatly appreciated!

H22 is a far cheaper swap.

5 spd for I4, 6 spd for V6.

I hope you have a lot of money saved up, neither build is cheap.

I cant do the swap for about two years... since I am going to UTI. I'll have school in the morning, work after, and studying at night. So no time for major projects, so hopefully by the time I graduate, I'll have enough money for the project. After I go to that school, I could do both of those projects myself. As of now Ill work on the exterior, interior, and handling. I still would like some more imputs though.

Thanks for the responses so far!

You really need to search around a bit. But, if you cannot put an engine in for two years, it really gives you the time to tear down and build up a great engine without worrying about time. Since you have a V6, I wouldn't recommend downgrading to an i4. You will get much more power out of a built v6 than a built i4. Start with a J32A2 engine. If you plan on turbocharging, you could most likely just leave the engine as is. If you plan on an keeping it NA, you can build up the engine to a 3.5L. The 6speed transmission will be a must in any of these cases...as the 4speed auto will probably last half of a dyno pull on your first tune.

Who says your downgrading to an H22? Per cylinder the H22 is much more energy efficient as it has more HP per cylinder. It's capable of handling a-lot of abuse stock.

It just depends on where your going with this. I would suggest an NA build on the V6 and a turbo build on the I4. The v6 can mate with a 6 speed from an acura type-s, the I4 will mate with a 5 speed from a f22,f23,h23 or h22 manual.

You can turbo any engine you want, my point was that your not necessarily downgrading if u choose and H22.

Ahem..

HP/cyl or not - It's just not cost effective.

I would definitely start building up your parts now, and have everything completely ready so by the time you swap everything, it will be much easier. Even if you dont have money for say, the complete J32 block right now, you can still start getting wiring harnesses and shift linkages and things like that to help ease the swap. DO YOUR RESEARCH, there are more and more people doing swaps, especially sweet J series builds, and so if you can get a complete parts list, start buying the smaller things now, and then you can save some money and get the bigger things as you move along. Ask Nick (AccordV6_400M) or Mike (MikeyMike) about their builds.

H22 is a far cheaper swap.

except for him. hes currently a v6, so hed have to move other **** around in the bay, and just a bunch of work that you dont really need to with most engine swaps....imo, not worth it to do a v6 to i4 swap.

id say go with a j32+6speed.
