Well this has been a bad weekend. Took me 2 days to get the transmission on....two f-ing days. Let me tell you it is not easy to get a twin clutch aligned without the right tools. Ended up using a LED flashlight and a 24,3mm wide sheet metal i cut out.

Best part is i got a message from a friend that he found a 24,3mm main shaft from a B16 ....so next time i need to get it aligned i can just borrow that. So far the clutch pedal support is welded

the transmission is now on but did not have time nor strength to go on. Bought me a engine crane and just did the prep work so next weekend i can lift the engine in to place. Then we should get a first glimpse on how the NSX engine looks under the accord hood. After it is in place can star working on the mokups for the mounts.

One problem that has come up is that i will need to make a U pend for the rear exhaust as the manifold just end in on top of the transmission VSS.

Anyway still lots to do but am getting there in a ....snails pace :)

But time for some crappy phone photos as forgot the camera at home.
First picture is of the hood closed....can say there is something inside :evillol:

The NSX engine fit ....amm kind of. At the moment it is on woodblocks and to get it to the height i need to cut and reweld the oilpan. If you look at the J30a1 oilpan it has a corner that is at an angle so it does not hit the subframe. I need to do the same modification.

You can see the oilpan hitting the subframe in this picture
PIC000583.jpg

Also rear exhaust manifold is on the subframe but that so as i have yet to get the engine in the right angle. It should be ok when i weld the oilpan.

Here you can see the oil pand hitting the subframe
PIC000593.jpg

After i cut and reweld the oilpan the engine should move 2 cm to the passenger side and give me more room on the **** linkage side.
The shift linkage work even now but is really close to the drivers side subframe. After mowing it to the left 2cm it should be no problem.

Why i need to get the 2 cm :
PIC000602.jpg

If i modifie the oilpan the transmission will clear the body frame.

You can see that there is hell lot of room on the passenger side

Engine is almost the same height
PIC000605.jpg

Almost level
PIC000598.jpg

Will lift the engine out tomorrow and then try to modifie the oilpand. After i get the engine in and it as it should be ...will start on making the mockup mounts.

As usual things don´t go as planed. The engine is still not on and have not have time to start work on the mounts.
Only good thing is that the interior wiring is coming along nicely. As far as the interior wiring is its plug and play for the engine. Got a hold of the OBD2 to OBD1 adapter harness. A few wires had to be re-pinned. Other then that it was all good. On the engine side it is another thing. The A/T part will need to be removed (working on that at the moment)

The brake pedal has been cut and the shifter is finally in as well. As it is hard to get a hold of US car parts /even Honda US i improvised on the shifter and bought a 94 accord shifter. It needed a small modification (front mount points needed relocating) to work. Will however need to cut the sifter shorter as at the moment its a bit to long.

The oil pan on the engine has been cut but have not welded it as i will test fit it in place and finish the mount mockups first and i might need to cut a bit more off.

Will try to get more work done on the up coming week.

That *** !!! .... Am loving the US style rear bumper

will your plate fit in the usdm spot alright?

We have US style plates too.
Looks like this:
est_63zgu.jpg

Just need to pay for the new plates and papers for the car. Will have to do it anyway as need to register the car as a manual trans. At the moment it says automatic trans. (4 speed) on the reg. papers. It should be there as the last owner had A/T drivers license and they just copied the information to the new reg. paper even though i got full license to drive stick and A/T.

Also engine code is marked for some reason (they never do that) so will have to copy the tag (sticker) of off the J30a1 and stick that on the side of the C30a3 so it will look like it the same old engine but manual transmission :emotions33:. Lucky for me they only look at the sticker and will not look for the engraved engine code.

Hehee thanks 604ACCORD

automatic drivers license? you need a different license to drive stick?? that's crazy, seems overkill.

Well its not actually as A/T drivers license costs less and it is easier to get. Only downside is that you are not allowed to drive stick. Getting a "full" drivers license you are able to drive stick and A/T and it cost more and sometimes you dont pass on the first go.
