[?] DIY cold air intake

So I was looking at this and I'm gonna tackle this tomorrow, but I just wanna know if somebody can give me some more information on this and if it's actually worth it.

Pretty much deleting the resinator box. All it does is add noise.

Good/cheap mod for a stock car.

if you dont have fender liners your filter will get wet. i know trust me lol

So I just got done doing this, and it took about 30-45 minutes, but I have a few issues.
First of all whenever it said to remove the intake from the resonator, MINE'S ATTACHED >:/
Or either I'm stupid.

Anyways, so I just didn't take it off and put it on the air box or whatever....
So is that okay? I drove it about 10 miles and didn't really have problems but in the long run?

i just took that^ off, and the bottom of the airbox, and strapped my filter on to the intake. had it like that for a year or so with no problems

^ that's not mine, but it looks close. I have the top of the i guess 'air box' on and I don't have the intake pipe at the bottom.

Am I doing it right?

You can just use zip ties instead of clips
