Guys, I just had an incident this past weekend with the Rogue and the garage door. Lets say, the repair job for the Rogue came to $2500 (without insurance being involved) and $2000 for the entire garage door and garage door system to be replaced. Moral of story: Don't depend on any type of camera while parking or reversing, since it doesn't capture if the entire garage door is fully up. Now with the Rogue. I am planning to DIY the trunk spoiler, as Nissan-Renault, decided to be a bunch of rear ends and choose to not sell the trunk spoiler as a separate part, but instead have the entire trunk hatch to be replaced. Too much work and too many stupid engineers at Nissan.
Did the opener malfunction or did you back up too soon before the door could open all the way? Cameras point down at the ground, so yea you wouldn't want to rely on that to tell you how far up your garage door is.
The thing is the garage remote range sucks eggs. I pressed the button multiple times as I was on the driveway and in front of it, and it just took forever to respond. Clearly, I thought it was completely open, as the camera shows that the garage is open (I barely rely on cameras, and when I do use cameras, lets say I screw up things that results in a hefty repair). It was 3/4 up and boom I pulled in and the garage broke. I was reconsidering going back to the CG as that doesn't have any cameras.
Yeah I just use my face and eyes and look where I'm going. In a SUV type vehicle you can just look in the mirrors or out the back glass. It's relatively simple.
lol the camera is supposed to help and assist you, not be the sole thing you rely on every time you put it in reverse. I wouldn't go back to the CG just because of this haha. It's a lesson learned and we all make mistakes
