I'm looking to insert an LED strip into my headlamps - but I'm a bit sceptical about some of those cheap LED strips that you can buy on ebay. Since I'm going to be taking the headlamps apart and putting them back in, I wanna make sure I get a strip that is well-made and won't fail while it's inside the housing. Can anyone give a recommendations on what to look for? (e.g. SMDs or bulb-style LEDs etc.)

KnightRyder has some really good ones, as does bdeitmeyer, you may want to check with them.

There are a couple others on here that have done custom strips as well, if you search for pics.

Don't buy LED's off of Ebay unless the listing is descriptive and they list specs, size, etc. Otherwise they're low quality.

I thought KnightRyder bought his from Oznium, but that may have been for one of his earlier headlight setups. I'm usually happy with everything I get from VLED's (inside and outside of my car is outfitted), but I wasn't 100% happy with the LED strip I got from them in respect to color...I bought 5k and some of the LED's were whiter/yellower than others. It was bright as hell though. I know others have bought from SuperBrightLed's.

Just stay away from LEDAutomotive.

Jephu may also be able to recommend a good strip to use, or have a source that could make them for you.

Oznium.

Also, I highly recommend adding a voltage regulator to the setup.

Thank you, someone else is with me on this. I bought a clock bulb from them, I got it and the bulb didnt work. I emailed them, and they sent another. This one's negative lead was broken. I emailed them again, and they finally sent me a good one.
