Hey whats up guys need some advice for my 98 accord f23a1 its in dying need of rings and i dont have time to be rebuilding at the moment but i do have a spare f22b1 motor im thinkin bout swapping in but i wanna use my f23a1 head and ecu and wanna kno will it work and has anyone else done it before

So you don't want to take your motor apart to fix it but, you want to take your spare apart to Frankenstein it?

yea...that swap will probably take lots more time then rebuilding....unless ur just trying to do an upgrade....but then again...not sure how many ppl have done a f23 head with f22 block...if thats what you mean...

^ ive never heard of it ..but have heard of f22 with a h22 head...torque monster..if i was u id just fix tha rings...same amount of work if not lesss...plus id like to think tha ud loose power because th f22 is a small displacement than f23:lurking:

Yes you can swap your head over to the B1 block. It should just bolt straight up. Good luck on getting your car back on the road again.

Is the b1 obd II? Im just wondering if the crank sensor is the same place in terms of wiring. I know thats something that has to be addressed doing obd I h22 swapsa

corect me if im wrong in 1996 most cars in the usa converted from ob1 to ob2... pretty sure it was a federal law that year

They did in 96, but Im just trying to recall how the wiring was switched. Something about the wires in the the dist and crank sensor going different places. But Ive only done obdI and plug n play obdII swaps

Is there a jdm f23a that i can get the pistons out of that has the dome to raise the compression a bit? or will i be better off boring the block and sliding h22 pistons in? i figure if ima rebuild the block i mines well do something a lil extra
