Just entered into a show for the weekend for my 02 lifted shitbox accord. I've been working on bedliner paintjob and like the way it's coming along. The thick liner helps distract from the fact that this car is now 4 Honda accords put together to make 1 and makes it looks like.... Maybe 5% less shitboxy haha
Had a new evap leak fault come up and since the last 3 times it was cracked vacuum lines, I decided to just go through and replace all of the ones I can that I didn't replace already. All I have left is leftover blue silicone line from a customer so I decided to really lean into the blue theme.
Also I pulled an amp and sub (installed in 2003) from my brother's car, it works, but he has kids now and upgraded to a flat sub for more trunk space for a stroller. Being a hoarder I decided to install the old giant 20 year old sub into my Honda.
Also lots of little metal parts quietly rusting away. Original plan was just Rust-Oleum black, but my daughter picked a blue she wanted to use.
Also the tail lights had remnants of white and green over spray from their previous lives so I got a headlight restore kit and did my best with them.
I also had not replaced the valve cover gasket when doing timing belt while car still belonged to my brother. Then a few years later when my brother dropped it here to junk it due to no start and rotted brake lines I had pulled timing apart to double check it wasn't off. Then just this week I had it off a third time to replace the crank sensor
So while I have valve cover off, going to clean, sand and paint it.
I Have some leftover white strip LEDs that one of my kids thought would be fun to emulate the electric new cars along their hood line so going to see if that looks ok as daytime running lights or pushes me past "jesuschristwhy" and into "ineedtotbonethiscar" hahaha
This is before photo of engine and tail lights and the crank sensor carnage
So before Sunday I hope to have finished:
Door speakers
Sub and amp
Touch up black along seams
Install tail lights after curing
Valve cover painted and new gasket
Use a wire gland to finally properly get CB and light pod wiring into cabin
