i work at a body shop.. REAL body shops make a reputation by their work. 1/2 *** shops dont do everything right. Time=Money. the less steps you take the more money goes to the shop.. your insurance wants to fix the car for as least amount as possible, and shops want to fix it for as much as possible. so if they get paid to do more then they are really going to thats where they make their money

Thanks Mikeymike, I'm glad to see there's someone out there in body shop land that believes in good work. Too bad you're in NY.

plus theyre relied on to do body work on ferrari's, aston's, and all kinda of high end cars, so that says it all about that place.

And there going to listen to you do this....right.

Honestly I've never had a problem with the body shop that I use and they do damn good work.

Uh, yeah I'll make them listen to me? If not, I'll take my business elsewhere. If that wasn't your point I don't understand what it is.

So here's my list of wonderful goodies that several body shops have done to my rides.

1. After welding my accord trunk they forgot to cover the rear window and I had rough spots on the glass.
2. They left the windows down and my interior was covered in dust.
3. I had bubbles in the paint (very obvious).
4. Didn't color match when spot painting.
5. Overspray on my rims.
6. Used drywall screws on my rear bumper cover (?).
7. Missed the rubber insert on my window tracking (already noted).
8. Blew fuses on my alarm.
9. Didn't prep correctly and when my paint chipped you could see what the og color was (Not Earl Scheib).
10. Drilled one of the fender holes bigger so it would line up rather than taking off the sideskirt.
Need I say more?

I've had a bunch of minor/somewhat major problems with the "regular" body shops in my area. Unfortunately, i've just come to expect it.

However, i had some major work done to a car at one of the "best" bodyshops in my area, recommended by so many people on and off line. Now, there work was great, i would never have known my car had a new quarter pannel from both the body lines, paint, interior without body pannels, etc. No shortcuts. Looked totally oem, etc, held up great. Then, first winter, my whole car flooded, they forgot to put a plug back in. I didn't ask them for much, $4 for the plug and to get my carpets cleaned. They denied it and say that would never happen, even though i never had the problem for 4 years and 3 weeks later had a few gallons of water in my back seat. BS, even though the work was great, a simple mistake on there part cause me to spend the better part of a weekend making my car right.
