So the other night I/m driving home and this dog? raccoon? some decent size critter darts out in front of my car, I swerve and NAIL a curb. Blew my tire, ripped off the wheel well lining. Next day i get my tire replaced, and noticed the cars making a weird sound now from the driver front side, the side i hit. It doesn't pull to the side, brakes don't shake or pulsate, drives fine. When I come to a stop, and accelerate again it makes a "creaking" sound, i'm assuming from the brake because it only makes the sound when I apply the break, but not at higher speeds......any ideas? I should have just run that thing over, but now at least some small child still has their dog.......or raccoon :badger:

Anyways, take it to a mechanic and get it inspected, it could be a 100 things.

my general rule:

If it's smaller than the hood I'm hitting it. I blew up an adult goose a few weeks back, F-d my license plate and such all up, but better than wrecking the car.

As for your squeak, I'd seriously investigate your hub bearing. it sounds like it took a shot.,

My suggestion is ..... floor it next time. As for you problems with the car, light it on fire and don't tell anybody you did it.

It's very rare that we see those get hit by cars, most times here, people will slow down and let them cross the street/get out of the way.

OP, sounds like a rotor problem, but best to let a mechanic sort that out for you.

Wheel bearing yo. Sound goes away when there's lateral force being applied to the outer wall of the bearing. When you're going straight, the noise comes back.

Doesn't sound like rotor/caliper.....
