So what would a decent price for all this be ? I don't want to contaminate this thread with a price, so help me out yah ?

Also, what about just ..
Canon Rebel XSI with the 18-55mm kit lens .. of course this option's gonna be cheaper, but what should this cost ?

i have no clue. not a canon person but lenses dont typically lose much of their value so your discount will mainly be the camera and the extra battery

Depends if its new or used. Used, I definitely wouldn't pay more then $500. You can get a used 40D for $400 if not less these days if you're patient.
