that matt under the hood is to dampen the noise specialy for our 4bangers and vibration, on my 91 accord i didnt have one and my engine was loud and my hood always vibrated, its kinda like dynomatt in other ways

funny thing, i thought engine bays were SUPPOSED to be dirty

Hey I took my hood liner off of my old hood, it was just making my engine dirty and adding extra weight to the hood. I didn't hear a difference in sound when I took it off, and I doubt that it does anything with cooling...
